The tooth is made up of three tissues: enamel, dentin and pulp. Pathology is defined as the study of diseases and about the body’s functional deviations from the norm. It is a division of oral pathology that studies about the congenital or acquired diseases involving the teeth. The congenital disease occurs at or before the birth and it may be due to the result of risks factors or may be hereditary.  
Conditions like hypoplasia and hypocalcification affect tissues of the tooth. Tooth discolourations attribute to congenital defects. Some tooth conditions are due to the infections or disease that are acquired in life. These conditions involve microbial pathogens, fungi, virus.
